We are extremely proud to recognize Yemenis who are recipients of the prestigious Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal which is awarded to those extraordinary people who have made a significant contribution to their province, territory or region within Canada.  Dr. Mohammed Baobaid is certainly someone who has made a difference in the lives of many individuals here and across Canada.

Dr. Mohammed Baobaid is the Executive Director of the Muslim Resource Centre for Social Support and Integration in London, Ontario.

Over the course of his illustrious career he has received many awards, including the Attorney General's Victim Services Award of Distinction for his efforts and commitment in helping victims of violence.  After moving to Canada from Yemen, Baobaid initially established the internationally acclaimed Muslim Family Safety Project, in London in 2004 and then went on to found the Muslim Resource Centre in 2009. Its mission is to help organizations providing aid to local families who are struggling with domestic violence, with an emphasis on tailoring their services in a culturally sensitive and responsive manner.  It maintains a focus on preventing abuse against children and women especially in Muslim and Arab communities.  For more information on the Muslim Resource Centre for Social Support and Integration, please visit:  http://mrcssi.com.
