Chargé d’Affaires Dr Ahmed Al-Emad Travels to Halifax for Student Event

In celebration of Yemen’s National Day 2014, Dr Ahmed Al-Emad marked the event by traveling to meet and celebrate with Yemeni students and community who study and live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The universities of Dalhousie (www.dal.ca) and Saint Mary’s (www.smu.ca) are popular choices for education and the growing number of community members indicates that it is a location that many Yemenis have chosen to call home.

Dr Al-Emad had the opportunity to meet with numerous students and members of the community on May 18th and 19th and also had the opportunity to tour the universities. He was pleased to observe the passion and hard work demonstrated by this inspiring group of young people who have accomplished such academic excellence. It was also of great benefit to discover the sometimes challenging road that many students and community members have travelled in order to attain success and happiness.
